The final and award ceremony of the 2020 "National University of Science and Technology Cup" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Huairou, Beijing

On the morning of October 25, the 2020 "National Science and Technology Cup" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Finals and Award Ceremony was held in Yanqihu Campus of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "National Science and Technology University"), marking the successful conclusion of the five month "National Science and Technology Cup" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The competition was co sponsored by the University of Science and Technology of China, the People's Government of Huairou District of Beijing, and the Management Committee of Huairou Science City of Beijing. Zhang Jinglei stated in his speech that this year is the second time that Weiqiao Entrepreneurship Group has sponsored and participated in the "National Science and Technology Cup" innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and it is also an important part of a series of cooperation between Weiqiao and National Science and Technology University around "industry university research cooperation" and "collaborative innovation". Last year, Weiqiao Entrepreneurship signed strategic cooperation agreements with National University of Science and Technology and Huairou District, establishing Weiqiao National Science and Technology Research Institute, and striving to build the Huairou Science and Technology Innovation Base into an incubation and acceleration base that can gather a large number of scientific and technological innovation projects with management, research and development, and marketing functions in about ten years. Currently, the first phase of the base has been launched in Huairou Innovation Town. In addition, Weiqiao also provides comprehensive services and support for scientific and technological innovation projects. The first phase of the Science and Technology Innovation Fund, worth 800 million yuan, has been established in Huairou Science City. The second phase of the fund, with a scale of 1 billion yuan, is planned to be established before the end of the year. In the future, it will form close cooperative relationships with multiple colleges of National University of Science and Technology and many institutions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Mou Kexiong stated in his speech that entrepreneurship and innovation are the foundation and key for a country to win the future. In the unprecedented changes in the world today, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has continuously improved China's basic scientific research level through the "First Action" plan, and assisted in economic and social development through the "Special Action to Promote the Transfer and Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements". The emphasis placed by National University of Science and Technology on innovation and entrepreneurship has created a lean and focused culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling the transformation of high-quality scientific and technological achievements that meet national strategic needs and market development needs. National University of Science and Technology has explored a better model for innovation and entrepreneurship development, cultivating a group of talents for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and achieving remarkable results for all to see. Previously, the finals of the five sub events of the competition had come to an end in Qingdao, Jinan, Zhongshan, and Beijing. After careful selection, a total of 28 projects entered the finals. After fierce competition on the spot, 9 third prizes and 6 second prizes were selected in the final. Finally, the "Retired Lithium Battery Intelligent Cycle Process and Equipment" project of the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the "Chinese Science Video Language" project of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the "Multi brain Blood Oxygen Monitor" project stood out and won the first prize respectively in the creative group, the start-up group, and the growth group. At the award ceremony, awards were presented for each item of the sub event and the finals, including the Outstanding Instructor Award, the Outstanding Organizational Unit Award, and the Outstanding Contribution Award. Special invited expert certificates were also awarded to the judges of the finals.
